The Helios Horses in London
Colour affects us all the time in
some way or other; in the colours we dress in to enhance our image, in
the way we decorate our homes, offices, schools, Hospitals, Prisons and
Restaurants. Colours makes us feel better and happy, or, have a
depressing affect on us. Colour is used in marketing to help to sell
products, for example the colour and image on a business card or letter-
head can encourage clients to make contact if it looks interesting. Food
arranged in a colourful way on a plate will stimulate the taste buds and
makes it look appetising. Colour is fun.
Colour may be used
therapeutically to improve our health. Light therapy is one option; this
involves shining coloured light onto the body either specifically or
systemically. Benefits are experienced in general health and well being.
Other specific problems suitable for colour treatment are
stress, anxiety, exhaustion, skin problems and emotional difficulties
such as bereavement. Colour often helps with reading disorders such as
Dyslexia and with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (M.E) and with the winter
Syndrome known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
The colours and shapes drawn in art
therapy are indicative of the persons Life style and identify with their
problems, as the drawings come from the unconscious mind spontaneously
into the conscious one. This is a practical way of using colour in
counselling or psychotherapy and is much easier to talk about a problem
through an image than just talking about it cold. We often find when the
time is right we can deal with a past problem and this can be a
practical way of doing so.
Helios offers a tailor made therapy programme using the Transpersonal
